Two-wheeler loan EMI calculator
Free, no sign-up, runs in your browser.
A two-wheeler loan is the smallest and shortest secured loan most lenders offer, and the rate is wide-ranging because so much depends on the borrower's credit file rather than the vehicle. Over two or three years the total interest stays small in absolute terms even at a high rate, which is what makes the headline rate easy to ignore and easy to overpay.

A worked example
A $250,000 Two-wheeler loan at a typical 12.5% over 3 years:
| Monthly instalment | $8,363 |
|---|---|
| Total interest | $51,083 |
| Total repaid | $301,083 |
| Income needed | $16,727 |
What to watch
The rate band here is unusually wide — 9.5% to 22% — and that spread is almost entirely about credit history. It is worth getting two quotes on a loan this small, because the gap between them can exceed the interest on the whole loan.
Questions
What is the EMI on a bike loan?
On a $250,000 loan at 12.5% over 3 years it is about $8,363 a month. Enter your own amount — most two-wheeler loans are far smaller than this example.
Is a two-wheeler loan worth taking?
On a small purchase, compare the total interest against simply waiting and paying cash. At the upper end of the rate band the interest on a three-year loan is a substantial share of the vehicle's price.
Can I prepay early?
Usually, with a charge of a few per cent of the amount prepaid. On a loan this short the saving from prepaying is modest, so check whether the charge eats it.
